
Gale at the time, age 18 when she won Gale, who was then 18 years old, won a Perth model contest. In the following modeling seasons, Gale gained fame in 1999, when Omnitel Italy (now Vodafone Italy) cast for her in advertisements. Gale continued to be featured in advertising by the company up to 2006. It was the Australian Tourist Commission also hired her in 2003 to be the "face for Australia" on the continent of Italy. Gale was featured on covers for Australian Marie Claire and Grazia. Also, she was featured in Italian Maxim and Australian InStyle. Gale was included in editorials for Australian Cosmopolitan, Vogue Italia and Italian GQ. Gale has been a model for Italian fashion houses including Gianfranco Ferre, Genny, Gai Mattiolo and runway work for Mariella Burani and Angelo Marani at Milan Fashion Week. Gale likes a lot of Australian fashion designers, including Colette Dinnigan, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho, Willow and Alex Perry. She was the fashion commentator for the Australian television awards, known as the Logies. In January 2008, Gale announced her retirement from modeling on runways after 15 years. She walked on the catwalk for the last time only a couple of weeks later at an David Jones winter collection launch in Sydney. Her final outfit she donned Wonder Woman's dress from the Justice League of America movie that was never released. Gale was the last to leave Alex Perry 2011 Melbourne Fashion Festival on March 11, 2011. Gale was celebrating her 10th anniversary with David Jones in August 2011 which was the longest-running fashion contract held by an Australian. In the same month, Gale was named ambassador for L'Oreal Paris, joining Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani. Gale appeared in an L'Oreal Shampoo commercial that was telecast across Australia, New Zealand, and Italy.
